From "Miss Allie Abernathy's Scrapbooks, 1893 - 1923", page 129:
Mrs. Mary Ann Leverett, wife of Thomas Leverett, was born December 6, 1826, and departed this life August 30, 1902. She leaves five children - Mr. Gideon Leverett and Mrs. J. Coggin of Chambers County, Ala., Mrs. John Abernathy and Mrs. John Wooten of Alexander City, Ala., and Mrs. J. T. Greene of LaFayette, Ala. These mourn her loss and with a host of friends followed her remains to Rock Spring Church, Chambers County, where she was laid to rest August 31, 1902.
The blessing of her quiet life falls on us like the dew.
Her chosen part in life seemed to be to forget herself and seek only how to make life simpler and easier for everyone she met.
