Frederick A. Butler, 70, a resident of Seber Shores, died Wed at Mercy Hospital, Watertown.

Mr. Butler was a native of Rochester and had lived in Sandy Creek since 1976, when he retired as a tool and die maker from Qualitrol Corp., Fairport. For the past four years he was a driver for
Oswego Co. Opportunities. Mr. Butler was a member of the Sandy Creek Grange 127 and the Lakeview
Country Club in Mannsville. He was a veteran of WWII, having served with the US Army. He was a member of the American Legion. Mr. Butler was an avid birdwatcher and an amateur entomologist.

He is survived by his wife, Betty (McAlpin) Butler, three sons, James of San Antonio, TX, Frederick K. of
Spencerport and Richard E. of Rochester, two daughters, Marilyn Gmelin of Rochester and Sandra Butler of Hilton; three sisters, Dorothy Desens of Rochester, Jean Cain of Henrietta and Joyce Butler of San Mateo, CA; six grandchildren; a g-grandson; an uncle; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Sat from the Summerville Funeral Home. Burial will be in Port Gibson Cemetery.
