Mrs. Henry A. Allard of Watertown, Was Native of Village

SANDY CREEK, Feb. 23— Burial of Mrs. Ella. S. Allard. 77, native of Sandy Creek, was held at the family plot in Sandy Creek cemetery Tuesday afternoon, following services at her home, 147 Union street, Watertown. Mrs. Allard who was the wife of Henry A. Allard, died at the home Saturday, her 59th wedding anniversary. She had attended several meetings of women's organisations Friday.

Mrs. Allard was born here July 3, 1854, daughter of the late Benjamin and Sophia Tremaine Near, and received her education in the Sandy Creek schools. Her early life was spent in Sandy Creek and Lacona. February 20, 1873 she was married in Pulaski to Mr. Allard, the ceremony being performed by the Rev. William Watson of that village. Mr. and Mrs. Allard had lived in Watertown the past 35 years.

Surviving Mrs. Allard, besides her husband, are a daughter, Mrs. Daisy Jamerson, Watertown; three sisters, Mrs. Alfred Thompson and Miss Lillian Near, both of Sandy Creek, and Mrs. A.H. Tiffany of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; four grandchildren, Clayton F. Allard, Pierrepont Manor; Earl W. Jamerson, Lacona; Dorothy M. Jamerson, this city; Marlon E. Allard. Albany; two nephews, Leon D. Hanchette and Deforest Hanchette both of Brownville; two nieces. Mrs. Alice Bacon, Gouverneur, and Mrs. Muriel Dewey, Iowa City, Iowa.

Other relatives include a cousin, Mrs.C.B. Upton, Pulaski, who with Mr. Upton went to Watertown upon receiving news of the death.
