Louise B. Ellis, 93, of the 4000 block of Cedar Grove Crescent, died Dec. 14, 2010, in her residence. Born in Portsmouth, she retired after more than 12 years with Central Fidelity Bank. She was an active member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and Disabled American Veterans No. 27 Auxiliary. She was predeceased by her husband, John C. Ellis; mother, Mamie Brown; father, Chancie Brown; four sisters and two brothers. She is survived by one daughter, Lottie M. Woodis; three sons, John C. Ellis (Linda), Maurice A. Ellis (Phyliss), Michael J. Ellis (Karen); one sister, Idella Leggett of Fleming, N.J.; one brother, Robert A. Brown of Philadelphia; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held 11:30 a.m. Monday in Ebenzer Baptist Church, Portsmouth, with the Rev. Leroy Hill presiding. Burial will be held in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake.
