Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Macy & Son Funeral Home in McMinnville, with burial in Camellia Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Sacramento, Calif.

A memorial service will be held for Loyce V. Ashley of McMinnville at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003, in the chapel of Macy & Son Funeral Directors,
McMinnville.

Ashley died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2003, in her home. She was 78.

She was born March 7, 1925, in Meridan, Wis., daughter of Forrest and Mabel Wheeler Swan. After graduating from high school in 1942, she moved to Dayton, Ohio, where she worked in a manufacturing plant for the duration of World War II.

She married Anders Anderson on Feb. 20, 1945. They moved around the country for many years, finally settling down in California in 1970. Three years later, her husband died.

In 1985, she met and married James Ashley. The couple moved to mcMinnville in 1994.

She worked as a food demonstrator in grocery stores. She enjoyed crafts, traveling and camping.

She was a member of Eastern Star, Knowles Chapter #12 and Lauralane Chapter #529, and the Daughters of the Nile, Temple #16. She also belonged to the Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband, Jim, of McMinnville; a son, David Anderson of Pinehurst, N.C.; a daughter, Carol Polser of Medical Lake, Wash.; two sisters, Audrey Mikesell of Lake Elsinore, Calif., and Sharon Steinmetz of Bloomer, Wis.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
