UXBRIDGE - Imogene F. (Hart) Ashcraft, 74, of North Main Street, a retired nurse, died Saturday, Oct. 30, in St. Camillus Nursing Home, Whitinsville.
She leaves her husband of 54 years, Sherley S. Ashcraft; four sons, Donald W., Allan E., Carl B., and Woodrow L. Ashcraft, all of Uxbridge; a daughter, Mary E. Orendoreff of Framingham; three brothers, Fred Hart of Belle Plaine, Minn., Eugene Hart of Garden City, Mich., and Herbert Hart of Michigan; three sisters, Annie Ferr of Florissant, Mo., Carolyn Ferguson and Grace McCarthy, both of Studgard, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; many nephews and nieces. She was born in Humphrey, Ark., daughter of Fred P. and Ethel (Boch) Hart, and moved to Uxbridge in 1946.
Mrs. Ashcraft was a licensed practical nurse at the Grafton and Westboro State hospitals for 24 years, retiring in 1985. She previously picked cotton with her family in Arkansas.
She was a member of North Uxbridge Baptist Church.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, in Buma Funeral Home, 101 N. Main St. Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Mendon Street. Calling hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, in the funeral home. Donations may be made to North Uxbridge Baptist Church, Memorial Fund, Hartford Ave. East, PO Box 365, N. Uxbridge, MA 01538.
