Jody was born in Newbury, VT, July 15, 1933, the daughter of Floyd M. and Marjorie (White) Stearns.
She attended from Groton High School and married Vernold "Cut" Eastman on September 1, 1950. Jody worked as a clerk for Cottage Hospital in Woodsville, NH and for Vergennes (VT) Family Healthcare for many years. She was a member of the South Ryegate Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir and belonged to the Mother's Club. Jody also attended the Wells River Congregational Church.
She enjoyed dancing with her husband, Cut, as well as snowmobiling. Jody loved cooking, family gatherings, and being a grandmother.
She was predeceased by her husband, Vernold Eastman on May 16, 2003, and by a daughter, Lori Greer in March of 2011.
Survivors include her son, Jeffrey Eastman of Overland Park, KS; four daughters, Cynthia Taylor of Burlington, VT, Patricia Eastman of Bonita Springs, FL, Kristi Garner of Montpelier, VT, and Connie Eastman also of Montpelier; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
