Notes: THE PARIS NEWS, 16 Feb 1963. 'Lloyd J. Abshire, distributor here for The Dallas Morning News, died of a heart attack at home, 1713 Church St., about noon Thursday. He was found about 12:30 p.m. by his son, Larry, who had been asleep after making early deliveries of the paper, and was wakened by a telephone call. Mrs. Abshire had left earlier to go to work at the Westinghouse plant. Justice of the Peace Gilbert Streety conducted the inquest. The funeral, Saturday at 10 a.m. will be held in Gene Roden & Sons chapel, by the Rev. Newton Hambrick, and interment made in Evergreen Cemetery. Son of William and Sallie Maude (Miller) Abshire, Lloyd Joe Abshire was born in Lamar County, 21 Apr 1910. He had been a salesman a number of years before becoming distributor for The Dallas News several years ago. His wife is the former Miss Lockie Kyle, and two sons, Larry and Richard, and a brother, W.F. (Bill) Abshire, all of Paris, survive also.' *Buried next to Alfred E. Abshire.
