Owensboro Messenger Inquirer, Thursday, October 13, 2011 Francis E. "Dugan" Aull, 72, of Philpot passed away Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011, at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born Jan. 21, 1939, in Daviess County to the late Casper Aull and Jessie Jarboe Aull. Mr. Aull was retired from Green River Steel and after retiring worked at Reid's Orchard until 1991. He was of the Catholic faith. He enjoyed fishing and camping and especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren play baseball. Aside from his parents, Mr. Aull was preceded in death by his former wife, Clara Ann "Doodle" Mattingly Aull in 1987.
Survivors include two daughters, Shelia (Chris) Roberts of Whitesville and Vickie (Jeff) Evans of Owensboro; a son, Timmy (Tracie) Aull of Owensboro; seven grandchildren, SSgt. Adam Roberts, USMC, Michelle Roberts, Jesse Roberts, Michael Roberts, Dylan Evans, Ryan Aull and Chelsea Simpson; a great-granddaughter, Ava Kate Anderson; and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by three brothers, Charles V. Aull, Carl Aull and Louis Aull, all of Owensboro. Services are at 11: a.m. Friday at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, Whitesville. Father Dave Johnson will officiate with burial to follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday at Haley McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home, where prayers are at 6 p.m. today.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Disabled American Veterans. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
