World War I Victoria Cross Medal Recipient. He served as a Sergeant in the 3rd Battalion of the Coldstream Guards. At Loos, France, October 8, 1915, Sergeant Brooks led a party of bombers against the Germans who had captured 200 yards of Allied trenches regaining the position. For most prestigious bravery, he was awarded the Victoria Cross Medal.
