Gladys Meldrum enjoyed her 100th birthday celebration on July 18 at the home of her granddaughter and family, Chuck Jill (Daeschler), Chuckie and Stephanie Robiadek with family and relatives present. Fred and Kaye (Dickson) Daeschler, Glady's daughter and husband were instrumental in the birthday preparation. Gladys' granddaughter, Jill Robiadek, Diane Harrington of Traverse City and great-granddaughter Stephanie Robiadek helped her open her gifts and cards. A very special poster board birthday card signed by her many friends from First Congregational Church was presented to her. The house was decorated with flowers and pretty balloons, one saying happy 100th birthday, which added much to the party. Cake and ice cream was served as well as delicious punch. Gladys lives with her daughter and son-in-law, Fred and Kaye Daeschler. Thanks to Kaye for sharing and a very special happy 100th birthday to Gladys Meldrum. The family thanks Jill Robiadek for holding the party for her grandmother. Cheboygan Daily Tribune (MI), August 6, 1999.
