OBITUARY

Lola Elizabeth Andrews was born to parents Lewis and Sylvia M. Andrews Dec. 3, 1902 in the county of Decatur. She passed away July 19, 1976, at the Thomas County Hospital in Colby, at the age of 73 years, 7 months and 16 days.

She moved with her parents and brothers to Rawlins County where they homesteaded south of McDonald. She spent her childhood there and grew to a young woman. She was baptized into the Christian faith. She then lived in Salina, where she attended business college, and remained there as a secretary, returning to Atwood in 1934. In Atwood, she worked for several years.

Lola was united in marriage to Wilcie E. Robbins of Atwood Dec. 16, 1938. After the passing away of her mother, she lived the rest of her life with her husband on the original homestead of her parents. Her full energies were devoted to carrying(sic) for and being a companion to Wilcie, her husband.

She is survived by her husband, Wilcie E. Robbins, his two sisters, Anna Arthur of Omaha, Neb., and Thelma Simpkins of Topeka; her brother, Orvile Andrews and his wife Charity; 14 nieces and nephews; and host of relatives and friends.

Her loyalty and honor to her parents and brothers remained with her always. Her nieces and nephews always knew they lived in her heart and she was there in the time of need.

She asked so little of life, but gave so much to those who knew her. A loving shelter was found with her, a gracious word and a smile, which set a glow...a torch of faith within her humble style.

Reach out your hand
in comfort and in cheer
And I in turn will comfort you
and hold you near;
And never, never
be afraid to die,
For I am waiting
for you in the sky.
