Mr. Franklin died Sunday at Golden Age Nursing Home in Jena after a long illness.
He was a retired logger.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Eune Mae Phillips of Grayson and Mrs. Kathrine Ellerbee [sic Katherine Ellerbe] of Columbia; five sons, Wavle Franklin of Columbia, Tommy Franklin of Monroe, William Franklin, Sammy Franklin, and George Franklin, all of Jena; three sisters, Mrs. Lottie Riley of Sicily Island, Mrs. Ida Culpepper of Pasadena, Tex.; and Mrs. Lillie Call of Shreveport; 24 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
