JAMES R. ARMSTRONG, 77, of Station Street, Altona, N.Y., died Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011, at his home under the care of Hospice of the North Country. He was born in Pittsfield, Mass., Oct. 11, 1933, the son of Thurman and Laura (Dubuque) Armstrong. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, at the Brown Funeral Home, 3123 Miner Farm Road, Altona, N.Y. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, at Holy Angels Church in Altona. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
