PARTRIDGE - Margaret Alice Conkling, 89, died Oct. 11, 2011, at Mennonite Friendship Manor, South Hutchinson. She was born May 13, 1922, in Arlington, Kan., to Edgar H. and Mary Elizabeth Busch Belt. She was a 1940 graduate of Partridge High School. She was a homemaker, a farm wife and longtime cook at the Partridge Grade School. She attended the Partridge Community Church. She was a member of the former Partridge Rebekah Lodge No. 592 and then Myrtle Rebekah Lodge No. 28 of Hutchinson. She married Edward M. Conkling Nov. 26, 1941, in Partridge. He died Aug. 6, 2003.
Survivors include: sons, Dale L., Bob R. and wife Linda of Partridge; seven grandchildren, Danny Conkling, Jackie Anshutz and husband Jeremy, Ashley Conkling, Jerrod Conkling and wife Rashelle, Annie Wylie and husband Troy, Jack Conkling and wife Amy, Abby Crowe and husband Gavin; ten great-grandchildren, Dustin, Lucas, Matthew, Lily, Max, Lincoln, Sam, Luke, Mackie and Riley. She was preceded in death by sisters, Lucille Troyer, Mary Schiefelbine; brother, Ernest Belt; and her parents.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011, at Elliott Chapel, with Chaplain Bob Phipps officiating. Burial in Partridge Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at the Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson.
