Phyllis Louise Smith, age 93, died Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at Sugar Creek Nursing Home in Greenfield. Born on January 6, 1915, in Connersville, she was the daughter of Calvin C. and Anna Mae Porter. She graduated from Connersville High School and married Francis E. Smith on March 10, 1934 in Connersville. She worked as a homemaker for many years and was a member of the Central Christian Church in Connersville and the Eastern Star in Connersville. Surviving her are her sons, Donald W. Smith of Connersville and Loyd C. Smith of Greenfield; daughter, Joyce A. Clark of Bowling Green, Kentucky; sisters, Betty Grant of Indianapolis and Ruth Smith of Michigan; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband; brother, Robert Porter; and sisters, Ethel Wire and Helen Fisher. A private service for Mrs. Smith will take place at Dale Cemetery in Connersville at a later date.
