She began her nursing career at the Sister's Hospital eventually transferring to Thayer Hospital in Waterville, retiring after 37 years. Even though she retired, she continued to care for everyone that surrounded her. She was the "go to" person for all that knew her. She never said no to anyone in need and would help out however she could.
Sylvia was an avid reader and enjoyed reading books about Maine. She loved to travel and especially enjoyed the camp at Moosehead Lake and Prince Edward Island in Canada.
She was predeceased by her parents; first husband, Wilfred J. Morissette, Sr., second husband, Romuald J. Gilbert; siblings, Joan Rosco, Romeo LeClerc and Alfred LeClerc.
