Born April 13, 1923 in Highland, Utah to Richard Thomas and Annie Clara Thompson Withers. He was raised in Draper, Utah.
He married Ida Joyce Chadwick on November 19, 1948. Joyce passed away on January 4, 2001.
Daryl served in the Korean War. He retired from Geneva Steel after thirty-three years of service. Dad had a great love for the outdoors. He was a great mechanic and could fix anything. He loved his family, and we will miss him.
He is survived by Guy (Toni) Withers, Wendy (Brian) Streadbeck, Zane (Rochelle) Withers, Trudy (Stephen) Manwaring, twenty-four grandchildren, forty great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, siblings: Gordon, Melvin, Ralph, Donna, and Iretta. Preceded in death by his parents, his wife Joyce, a great granddaughter, two brothers, and two sisters.
Dad fought a courageous battle with Macular Degeneration, Dementia and Alzheimer's Disease. Thank you to all those who helped care for him in his final days.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 14, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Anderson and Sons Mortuary Chapel, 49 East 100 North, American Fork, where friends may call on Thursday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:45-10:45 prior to the services.
Burial will be in the American Fork Cemetery.
