FLORENCE, SC - Chief Warrant Officer Jean B. Hall, USMC (retired), 83, died Friday, October 07, 2011 at his residence after an illness.

Mr. Hall was born in Charleston, SC a son of the late Jethro Pinckney Hall, Sr. and Lillian Spivey Hall. He was a veteran of the USMC having served during the Korean War and the Vietnam War. During his service, he was the recipient of various metals and commendations including the Purple Heart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 54 years, Harriet "Peggy" Clark Hall, who died in 2008; 2 brothers, J.P. Hall, Jr. and Marvin Hall; 2 sisters, Eleanor Clark and Mildred Car-doza.

Surviving are his sons, Lennard (Sandra) Hall of Woodbury, Tenn. and Larry (Mary Ellen) Hall of Florence; 2 sisters, Anne Richter and Barbara Coker, both of Charleston; 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Jacksonville, FL 32256. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 Thursday, October 13, 2011 at the Florence National Cemetery with Full Military Honors directed by Stoudenmire - Dowling Funeral Home.
