Maylor Moore Mason, 88, died Aug. 29, 1997.
A native of Durham, N.C, she had been a resident of Norfolk for many years before moving to Williamsburg five years ago.
She retired from civil service in 1973, as a sailmaker, after 31 years of service. Ms. Mason was of the Church of Christ faith.
She is survived by a daughter, Grace A. Odom of Williamsburg; a son, David Allen III of Hampton; three sisters, Thressia M. Brown of Durham, Ruby M. McKinney of Raleigh, N.C., Daisy Stevens of Lillington, N.C.; a brother, Wallace R. Moore of Durham; 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at noon Monday in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk, by the Rev. James H. Nowell. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 303 Butler Farm Road, Suite 106, Hampton, Va. 23666. Amory Funeral Home, Grafton, is in charge.
