Dorothy E. Reid, age 91, of Rehoboth Beach, DE, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 7, 2011, at Brandywine Assisted Living in Rehoboth Beach, DE, surrounded by her family. She was born in Philadelphia, PA, on February 2, 1920, daughter of the late William and Florence (Schulle) Ehinger.

Mrs. Reid graduated from Olney High School in Philadelphia. After graduation, she worked as a gifted seamstress in The Blum Store, a well known women's specialty store in Philadelphia. In later years she was a head teller with Central Penn National Bank, Southampton, PA branch. She was a faithful Army wife, homemaker and beloved Mother of two children. Her family was the central focus of her life and she and Bob, her husband of 58 years loved to dance, travel, and spend time with their children and grandchildren. She was the "big sister" of a close knit family of four girls who loved all and was loved in return She enjoyed traveling with her sisters, cooking, music, and dancing. She was a talented seamstress, and an active member of various women's clubs and church organizations in Southampton, PA, Frederick, MD, Bradenton and Spring Hill, FL. She was a very gracious lady.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Reid was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Glen Reid in 1998. She is survived by her son, Robert Glen Reid, Jr. and his wife Janet of Bethany Beach, DE; a daughter, Nancy D. Rojewski and her husband Henry of Bethany Beach, DE; five grandsons: R. Glen Reid III and his wife Alyssa of New Caanan, CT, Matthew Reid and his wife Andrea of Centereach, NY, Jeremy Reid and his wife Alie of West Chester, PA, Jonathan Reid Rojewski of New York, NY and Nicholas K. Rojewski of Baltimore, MD; two granddaughters: Rebecca Rojewski Smith and her husband Matthew of Jefferson, MD and Amy Rojewski Hasson and her husband Joshua of Baltimore, MD; six great-grandchildren: Ethan Reid, Gavin Reid and Hannah Reid of New Caanan, CT, Ashley Reid and Sydney Reid of Centereach, NY and Luke Henry Smith of Jefferson, MD; three sisters: Florence Wachsmuth of Southampton, PA, Margaret Turnquist of Rochester, NY, Nancy O'Donnell of Escondido, CA, one first cousin William Kelly of Cleveland Heights, OH, and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, October 29 at St. Martha's Episcopal Church, 117 Maplewood Street, Bethany Beach, DE. The Rev. Mark Cyr will officiate. Friends may call at the church beginning at 11:00. Interment will be at All Saints Episcopal Church Columbarium, 106 W. Church Street, Frederick, MD, at a later date. Arrangements by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes, DE.
