A service of celebration will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 29, in Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church with Bishop Dr. Tom Stockton, Rev. Jill Auman, and Rev. Barry Osborne officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Dr. Ronald Carpenter, Tom Jarrell, Dave Liggett, Jack Somers, James Whitley and Greg York will serve as active pallbearers. Brian Clodfelter, James Habermehl, Eric Hartzell, Gene Rhodes and Dana Tupes, will serve as honorary pallbearers. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Wilmington, Ohio.
Brian was born March 31, 1964, in Wilmington, Ohio, a son of Mack and Patricia Carolyn Bowman Dixon. He was a graduate of The Ohio State University, where he was a member of The Ohio State Marching Band. He was a recipient of the Sudler Trophy for excellence. He, along with his wife, Lori, owned and operated Dixon Associates Therapy Services. He was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, and a very devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend. Brian had an adventuresome spirit, was loved by all who knew him and lived life to its fullest. Brian will be sorely missed.
On Sept. 21, 1991, he married the former Lori Swindler who survives of the home.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are four sons, Andrew Christian Dixon, Joseph Wesley Dixon, Daniel Paul Dixon, and Michael Christopher Dixon, all of the home; mother, Patricia Carolyn Dixon of Wilmington, Ohio; brothers, Bret Dixon (Cherie) of Wilmington, Ohio, Jeff Dixon (Cate) of Dayton, Ohio, and John Dixon (Debbie) of Dublin, Ohio; nieces, Sara, Molly, Jane, and Jill Dixon, Nicky, Lindsay, and Amanda Hrenya, and Kelley Swindler and several aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his father, Mack Dixon on February 2, 2008.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Thursday evening at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Eastchester.
