The 1850 census revealed that William was a farmer, they were living in Marlboro, Stark, Ohio with six children still at home. It states that Frederick, Louis and Elizabeth were born in Germany so they must have emigrated to America between 1834 and 1836.

The 1860 census revealed they had moved to Limaville, Stark, Ohio. Their youngest three children were still at home.

The 1880 census revealed William had moved Lexington, Stark, Ohio, near his son Louis and his family, and there was a nine year old named Catherine Hoffmann living with him.

William lived to the age of 76Y.
