Born in the Southport community, he was active in the Methodist church since early in life. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Edna Matthews Gibson; three daughters, Mrs. Albert Dugger, Mrs. Roy Goldman and Mrs. Buford Sands; three sons; two sisters, Mrs. R. C. Horn and Mrs. W. A. Lovell, of Southport; and two brothers.
