Mrs. Ethel Mae Cornell, 97, of Petersburg, died July 1, at Grant Memorial Hospital, Petersburg. She had been a resident of the Grant County Nursing Home since July 31, 2000.
Born Dec. 22, 1905, in Arthur, she was the daughter of the late Millard F. Turner and Minnie (Bensenhaver) Turner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Delmar D. Cornell, July 3, 1988.
She is survived by one son, Lawrence D. "Larry" Cornell of Dusseldorf, Germany; one daughter, June C. Murphy of Moorefield; one sister, Glenna Deneault of Petersburg; one brother, John Woodrow Turner of Petersburg; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were July 5, at the Schaeffer Funeral Home chapel, Petersburg, with interment in the Lahmansville Cemetery, Lahmansville.
