Debra Jo Flanagan, age 57.
Deb passed away after a two year battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Her life was far too short. Deb was born in Denver and raised in Portland.
Her work in the music industry started in Portland, but it took her to Los Angeles; Weehawken, N.J.; Austin, Texas; and finally to Nashville, Tenn.; when the disease began to take its toll on her life. Every place she lived she built lifelong friendships. She loved her friends, family, travel and her animals.
She is survived by her brother, Harry; nephews, Jeff, Dan and Tim; and her cousins. Our lives are dimmer with her passing.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, 2009, in Parkrose United Methodist Church. For those of you who loved and cared for her, we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your friendship to our beloved Deb.
