He served as a medic in the Army prior to graduating from Southern Methodist University in 1950. He began his 30 year career with PPG the day he graduated from SMU. After 30 years of service with PPG, he and his partners established Regal Glass where he worked until he retired in 1986. He was active in the community and was a member of the Rotary and Kiwanis Clubs.
He was preceded in death by his three brothers, five sisters and two sons.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Anna Marie Plunk; daughter, Linda Testerman and husband, Rodney; grandchildren, John Hallam and wife, Ann, James Hallam and wife, Jennifer, and Amber; great-grandchildren, Ben, Sam and Kathryn Hallam; they were the joy of his life the past 11 years. He was blessed to be with them almost every day. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 12, 2011 in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
Honoring Eddie as pallbearers will be Johnny Terry, George Blameir, Guy Myers, Randy Short and Jerry Schaaf. Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert (Bob) Jackson and David Garner.
