Widow of Banker Dies Here at 88
Mrs. John Jaster, Sr., Was Born in Cleveland
Mrs. Lucie Jaster, widow of John Jaster, sr., late Cleveland banker, died yesterday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Clara Wendorff, 2352 Demington Drive, Cleveland Heights, where she had been making her home in recent years.
On Aug. 31, Mrs. Jaster's family had gathered to celebrate her 88th birthday with her. A native Clevelander, she was widely known during her lifelong residence here.
Besides Mrs. Wendorff, she is survived by two other children: Mrs. Jessie Ranney and John, jr.: five grandchildren, including two in service, Sergt. William R. Jaster, on Saipan, and Lieut. (J. G.) Neil J. Ranney, on Luzon with the naval reserve, Mrs. Lucy von Stein and Gail Jaster of Cleveland, and Dr. John C. Ranney of Northampton, Mass., and one great-grandchild.
Dr. Everett Moore Baker, minister of First Unitarian Church, will conduct services tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. at the Demington Drive residence.
