Jean Watson passed from the earthy bounds of this world to be with her Lord and Maker on September 29, 2011 at the age 80. She was born in Horton, KS on October 17, 1930 to Annie Mae Huffman Haney and Clarence Haney. Approximately 2 years later the family relocated to the suburbs of Ft. Worth, TX known as Riverside. Jean graduated from Carter Riverside High School where she was a Drum Majorette for 4 years. After graduation she pursued a career in bookkeeping working for a commission company in the Ft. Worth Stock Yards, as a bookkeeper for R. W. Gibbons Paving Co. and Sossman Electric Co. of Ft. Worth, TX. After 22 years as the Office Manager for Price Distributing Co. of Ennis, she retired in 1995. In 1948 Jean married Harry M. Steinfeldt, Sr. They had one child, Harry, Jr. and then they divorced in 1952. Sometime later Jean met and eventually married Marion Roger Muncy in January 1954. Roger and Jean had one child, Troy Allen Muncy. In 1962 they divorced after Troy's death. In 1967 she met George Erskin Watson of Rankin, TX. They married in October 1968 and Jean relocated to Ellis County, where she lived for over 40 years.
Her religious travels took her to Castleberry Baptist Church of River Oaks, TX. Settling in Ennis she initially attended Tabernacle Baptist Church, but in her later years called Garrett Baptist Church "home".
While living in Ellis County, Jean was the President of the Ellis County Women's Bowling League for 8 years, Ennis Golden Circle Board Member for 4 years, Garrett Baptist Treasurer for 4 years and a member of the Bardwell Lodge #560 Order of the Eastern Star.
Jean is preceded in death by her mother, Annie Mae Wilson; second son, Troy Allen Muncy; husband, George Erskin Watson and grandson, Harry M. Steinfeldt, III. She is survived by her first son, Harry M Steinfeldt, Jr. of Waxahachie; grandson, Troy W. Steinfeldt of Cartersville, GA and seven great grandchildren, Alyssa, Brylie, Jasmyne, Liberty, Tiffany, Johnny and Henry.
