WHITINSVILLE Leslie A. Preston Jr., 77, died Fri., April 4th at Beaumont Nursing & Rehab. Center after an illness. His wife of 46 years, Shirley M. (Ouillette) Preston, died in 2001. He is survived by 3 daughters: Donna Wolochowicz of Millbury, Debra Sprague-Fuller of Whitinsville and Regina Young of Upton; 7 grandchildren; a sister, Constance Burnat of Whitinsville, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Robert Preston, who died in 1955 and a sister, Phyllis Mair-Preston. Born in Grafton on Jan. 6, 1931, he was the son of Leslie A. Sr. and Evelyn M. (Aubin) Preston and lived in Uxbridge and Whitinsville most of his life.
Mr. Preston worked at the former Whitin Machine Works in Whitinsville many years. He later worked for Manchaug Corp. several years. He was educated in the Uxbridge public school system and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed building model airplanes and especially loved his grandchildren.
His graveside funeral service will be held on Mon, April 7 at 11 a.m. at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Mendon St., Uxbridge. There are no calling hours. Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home 35 Snowling Rd, Uxbridge is directing arrangements.
