She spent a summer in Chicago and danced in the Chicago Opera Ballet, then traveling to California to study under Theodore Cosvolt. Elizabeth Boyers moved back to Gallatin in 1937; during WWII, Betsy ran the "Sweet Shop" in Gallatin, a popular gathering place for the local youth. After the war, she converting a portion of mother's old house into a dance studio where 100s of Gallatin's little girls (and the occasional boy) learned to appreciate classical music and gracefully move. Her ballroom parties were legendary.
She died on September 5, 1974 in Gallatin, Tennessee.
