Esther Steves Buesing, 87, of Yorktown, died Monday, Jan. 12, 2004.
She was born Nov. 7, 1916, in Runge, to the late Herbert H. and Adeline Wessels Steves. She was a retired lunchroom worker at Yorktown ISD and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Survivors: daughter, Carol Veazey of Yorktown; sons, Herbert Buesing Jr. of Austin, Dennis Buesing of Alvin, and David Buesing of Pflugerville; sisters, Viola Hodges of Pennsylvania and Shelvy Schneider of Victoria; brothers, Leslie Steves of Colorado and Jack Steves of Runge; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by: husband, Herbert Buesing; brothers, Carl Steves, Harold Steves, and Frank Steves; and three grandchildren. Visitation was Wednesday, Jan. 14 at Lamprecht-Janssen Funeral Home Chapel. Services were Thursday at the funeral home chapel, the Rev. Patti Byrne officiated. Burial was at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Lamprecht-Janssen Funeral Home, Yorktown, 361-564-2277. Pallbearers: Jerry Steves, Ray Leister, Arlan Leister, Herbert Wayne Buesing, Heath Buesing, and James Semper. Honorary pallbearers: Remaining grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
