Rebecca R. Ackman, 85, of 30117 162nd Ave. W., Illinois City, died Saturday at Franciscan Hospital in Rock Island.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral home. The Rev. David Knudson will officiate. Pat Dilts will be organist and Florence Hetzler, vocalist. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m.
Mrs. Ackman was born June 24, 1904, at Wapello, a daughter of Harvey and Sarah Houtz Reid. She had lived in Illinois and Iowa areas for most of her live.
Her marriage to Clayton G. Reddick took place June 26, 1922, at Wapello, On May 18, 1957 she married Ernest G. Ackman in Muscatine. She was of the Methodist faith.
She had worked at H.J. Heinz, the Pearl Button Co. and had retired from the former Hershey Convalescent Home.
Survivors include seven sons, Clyle, Of Ottowa, Ill.; Eldon, of Burlington; Harlan, of Woodhull, Ill.; Hilton M., of Andalusia; Marvin D., Illinois City; Darrell W., of Audover; and Rodney L., of New Windsor; two daughters, Marcella Reed, of Norwalk, Ohio; and Mrs. Harley (Lorbetto "Betsy") Asher, of Marceline, Mo.; 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one brother, James Reid, of Coralville; and two sisters, Vinnie, of Coralville; and Nancy Wagner, of Columbus Junction.
Her parents, both husbands, two brothers, three sisters and two grandsons preceded her in death.
