Raleigh 0. Lane, 65, died at 11:55
p.m. Saturday at Muscatine General
hospital following an extended ill-
ness. His home was at 1424 Cedar
St.
He was born June 19, 1901, at
Baring, Mo., the son of Lawrence
and Mary E. Johnson Lane and had
been a Muscatine resident for 40
years.
He married Edna Fisher, April 15,
1929, at Baring. He was a member
of the Pleasant Ridge Christian
church at Baring. Mr. Lane was a
farmer and a former employee of
the H.J. Heinz Co.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs.
Edna Lane, Muscatine; four sons,
Richard and Royce of Cedar Rapids,
Clinton of LaFayette, Ind., and
Jack serving with the U.S. Marine
Corps; one daughter, Mrs. Jayendra
(Joan) Bharucha. New York City; one
brother, Jesse, Denver, one sister,
Mrs. Ruby Pelley, Los Animas, Col-
orado; and five grandchildren.
His parents, one daughter, and a
sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted
at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Ralph
J. Wittich Funeral Home with Rev.
Clifton Ellerbeck officiating.
Burial will be at Memorial Park
cemetery.
