Muscatine-Bill L. Honts,44, of 213 Cook St. died Saturday, October 3, 1998, at his home,following a two year battle with cancer.
Services will be at 1:30 P.M. Thursday at the Ralph J. Witich Riley Freers Funeral Home. The Rev. Edward Meyer will officiate. Pallbearers will be Mike Baxter, Wayne Ryder, Dave Kerr, Pete Dieckman, Robert Moore and Craig Bartheld. Jeff Selyars, Ron Goodwin, Tom Delly and Douglas Bunn Sr. will serve as honorary pallbearers. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Bill Honts Memorial fund.
He was born November 5, 1953 in Muscatine the son of Daniel J. and Lena V. Yedlick Honts.
He was a member of the Muscatine Ruscue Unit. He was self employed unerwater scuba diver for 15 years. He also worked in the family business, Danny's Dales and Service from his youth until four years ago.
survivors include his fiance, Jane Kemper of Muscatine, two sons, Mike and Jeremy Honts both of Muscatine, one daughter Betty Sue Honts of Muscatine; three grandchildren, Dakota, Brieann and Cortine Honts, one brother Steve Honts of Muscatine; two sisters, Violet Reifer of St. Petersburg, Fla. and Janet Forbes of Muscatine. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
