Private, Company I, 7th US Cavalry. Killed in action during the Battle of the Little Big Horn, in which most of his regiment was also killed.

He enlisted on 26 January 1872 in Rochester, New York, giving his previous occupation as Salesman. He had hazel eyes, dark brown hair, a fair complexion, and was 5 feet, 6 inches tall. Assigned to Company I under Captain Keogh, he was detailed during the expedition to the Regimental Headquarters. He was killed on Last Stand Hill, along with all of the soldiers of Custer's Column, and was initially buried where he fell. In 1878, the bodies of the soldiers were removed from their field burials and reinterred in a mass grave at the top of Last Stand Hill, where his body remains today. He was not married.
