Private, Company E, 7th US Cavalry. Killed in action during the Battle of the Little Big Horn, in which all of the other soldiers in his column were also killed.

He enlisted on 5 December 1867 in Company E, 7th US Cavalry, and reenlisted again for the same unit on 19 December 1872. He had blue eyes, light hair, a fair complexion, and was 5 feet, 6 inches tall. He was killed on Last Stand Hill, along with all of the soldiers of Custer's Column, and was initially buried where he fell. In 1878, the bodies of the soldiers were removed from their field burials and reinterred in a mass grave at the top of Last Stand Hill, where his body remains today. He was not married.
