New River Depot — Wilson, only son of Mr and Mrs. J. William Divers, aged 14 years died at the Jefferson Hospital, Roanoke on Friday last at about 12:30. p. m. having undergone an operation sometime during the previous night for appendicitis. He had been suffering for about a week, Dr Wilson, of Radford attending him. He was taken to the hospital on Thursday afternoon on No. 12, accompanied by his father and Dr. Wilson. Wilson was an unusually good boy; industrious, obedient and kindin the home, studious and dutiful in school, quiet and attentive in Sunday school and was polite with his playmates and in fact was loved by all who knew him He is survived by his father, mother and two sisters. The funeral service was conducted Sunday morning at 10 o'clock at the M. E. church by the pastor the Rev. S. D. Lambert and interment was at Rockford cemetery. We extend our deepest sympathy to the family of the deceased in their sad bereavement. March 22, the day Wilson, died, was his mother's birthday and Just four years hefore on the same day her only brother Wm. Dudley was killed on the East Radford yard.
