Ocala - Iris Hunter was born Iris Winona Dixon on April 27, 1908 at Petersfield Newland, St. Mary. She has lived also in Port Maria, Port Antonio, Kingston and Montego Bay, and since 1985, Ocala, FL. She is survived by her children, Pearl Magnus, Loris Hunter-Campbell, Olive Hunter, Eric (Rickey) Hunter, Nieces, Nephew, Grandchildren, Great and Great Great Grandchildren and other Relatives and Friends. She was a businesswoman and established, owned and operated Hunter's Variety Stores in Port Antonio, Kingston and Montego Bay. She continued to do dressmaking and was one a few business people at the time to import buttons, buckles and other products. In the mid 1980's she moved to the United States to be near her children and became a longtime resident of Ocala, FL. Service will be held at 10:00AM, Saturday, October 8th, 2011 at Barbican Baptist Church, 106 Barbican Road, Kingston 8, Jamaica. A Memorial Service will take place in Ocala, FL at 11:00AM on Saturday, October 15th, 2011, College Road Baptist Church, Ocala, FL 34474. Instead of floral arrangements, please make donations in Mrs. Iris Hunter's name to: Barbican Baptist Church in Jamaica and for the US to College Road Baptist Church, Ocala, FL. Arrangements are under the care of ROBERTS BRUCE CHAPEL WEST, Ocala, FL.
