The funeral for M.T. (Mac) McGuire, 87, will be held Wednesday at 2 PM at Olivet Lutheran Church, Fargo. There will be a visitation Tuesday from 4 to 7 PM in Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo, and Wednesday in the church one hour prior to the funeral service. He died Saturday, March 21, 1998.
M.T, (Mac) McGuire, the son of Josephine and Charles McGuire, was born May 24, 1910 in Washburn, ND, where he grew up and attended school. He married Edie Hutchinson Feb. 2, 1937, in Minot, ND. His career in the car business took him from the Washburn Ford garage to Universal Motors in Bismarck, and Spaulding Ford in Aberdeen, SD. He and his brother, Michael, owned and operated the McGuire Ford garage in New Rockford, ND. The family moved to Fargo in 1951. He was manager of the WW Wallwork Moorhead garage until it merged with the Fargo branch. He remained with Wallwork until his retirement in 1980.
He is survived by his wife, Edie; a son, Michael (Linda), Fargo; a daughter, Patricia (Joy) Anderson, Lawrence, KS; five grandchildren: Randi Anderson Jandt, Fairbanks, Alaska; JoDee Anderson, Seco, Lugo, Spain; Tony Anderson, Shawnee, KS; Shannon McGuire, Fargo; Steve McGuire, San Jose, CA.
