Handwritten and bound. page 96: Thomas Robert Hearn (Co. F) Born February 16, 1835 New York City. Died at Poquonock, CT March 31, 1883 of Pneumonia. Married. 5'10-3/4" (From his son, Wm. J. Hearn, October 17, 1892)

Thomas Robert Hearn was born in either NYC or NJ and John Phillips Hearn, his brother, was born in NYC, children of James Henry Hearn, b. Cork City, Ireland and Ellen Simmonds, born England. They were musicians in the 17th CT Infantry and are buried at Mt. Salem Cemetery, Wilmington, DE. They married sisters, twice, i.e., Thomas married Hannah Mole 1860-1862 probably at Norwalk, CT and John married her sister Alice Mole Oct 9 1865 at Christiana Hundred, Sussex, DE. Both Mole sisters died young and Thomas then married Rebecca Jane Mathewson and John married her sister Mary Elizabeth Stuart Mathewson. His brother, Samuel Hearn, served as a drummer boy in the 5th and 7th US Infantry. James Henry Hearn, their father, served as a Regimental Band Leader in the Mexican War and Thomas Robert served alongside him has a boy musician. James T. Hearn, another brother, also served with the 17th CT and died at Brooks Station, VA during the war.
