Gunshot Wound Fatal To Martin L. Boyer
Martin Luther Boyer, 74, a retired employe of the State Roads Commission, died Saturday as a result of an accidental gunshot wound.
Cpl. Robert T. Storer, who is conducting a routine investigation for Maryland State Police, said death was due to a wound int he head caused by a .22 calibre rifle.
The incident occurred in a small barn on Boyer's property on the Broad Run Road in Broad Run sometime in the afternoon.
Boyer was a son of the late Henson and Susan Koogle Boyer and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church, Burkittsville.
He is survived by his wife, Nellie Huffer Boyer; one daughter, Mrs. Paul Rice, Myersville, two sons, Atlee L., Frederick and Donald L., Myersville, one sister, Mrs. Cora E. Rudy, Frederick, and five grandchildren.
The body is at the Gladhill funeral home, Middletown, where friends may call. Funeral services will be held from the funeral home Tuesday at 10:30 a.m., and interment will be in the Middletown Lutheran Cemetery.
