1850 - Redman Martin on Alum Creek . Redman Martin who was a shoemaker for people living in the Coal River section of Kanawha County. Him and his wife Elizabeth Betsy Midkiff Martin lived about 1000 feet below the mouth of Alum Creek. Redman Martin had dark complexion, dark hair and blue eyes. Redmond Martin was the son of James and Rebecca Martin.
