On September 25, 1871, while William was working as a carpenter and living in West Eau Claire, Wisconsin, he was united in marriage to Sarah Caroline Harmison, by Reverend Jessie D. Dudley, Pastor of the Congregational Church, at West Eau Claire. She was born December 10, 1842, place unknown, daughter of Isaac and Eunice Harmison. She died October 15, 1933, while living at 709 Billinger Street, Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and is probably buried there beside her husband in Lake View Cemetery. Their children were: Clarence Daniel, b. 15 May 1874; Frances Louisa, b. 9 Mar 1877; Mary Emily, b. 1 Oct 1878; Isaac, b. 4 Mar 1882; Ida, b. 4 Mar 1882; & Blanche, b. 8 Feb 1886.
