Second daughter of John James and E.E.Muse.Moved to Richmond at the age of 12 with her parents,was educated at the Richmond Female Institute.
While attending school she met Rev.J.H.Newbill,who as a young man,was studing for the ministry at Richmond College and after he graduated they married in Richmond on October 9th,1873.
Mother of Prof.J.Aubrey Newbill of Colonial Beach,Hattie L.(Robert A.Peed) and Garnette(Joseph Granville Heflin) of King George county,Va.
