Howard Ross Edmunds, 58, of Roanoke, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2011 after a brave two year fight post liver transplant. Surviving are his wife, Lorraine Edmunds; daughter, Katie Scruggs and husband, John of Shawsville, Va.; son, David Edmunds and wife, Daly of Laramie, Wyo.; grandchildren, Walker Scruggs, Hunter Scruggs and Eliana Edmunds; and other extended family members in Canada as well as numerous friends throughout the continent. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the UVA Health System Charles O. Strickler Transplant Center, 1335 Lee St. Charlottesville, VA 22908. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 14, 2011 at Oakey's North Chapel where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
