Cecilia A. Meinders (1917-2011)

CEDAR FALLS- Cecilia A. Meinders, 94, of Cedar Falls died Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011 at the Western Home Communities Elizabeth E. Martin Health Center.

She was born July 5, 1917 in Stacyville, daughter of Albert and Pauline (Kuechenberg)Mayer . She married Raymond A. Meinders on Mar. 18, 1952 in Dubuque, Iowa. He died Sept. 4, 2004.

Mrs. Meinders was employed with Rath Packing Company for 32 years, retiring in 1979. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Cedar Falls.

Survived by: two daughters, Marie (Richard) McDermott of Waterloo and Jo Ann (Ken) Slickers of Indianapolis, IN; two sons, Tom Williams of Cedar Falls and Michael (Pat) Meinders of Waterloo; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: three brothers, Jerome, Vernon and Leo J. Mayer; a sister, Helen Cerrato; and a daughter-in-law, Kathy Meinders.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick Catholic Church with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Waterloo. Visitation from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Richardson Funeral Home, where there will be a 4:30 p.m. Vigil. Visitation also for one hour before service Monday at the church.
