Peter Butler, age 41 of Gatesville, died Saturday, August 30, 2008 in Gatesville.


Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 4, 2008 at the Coryell Community Church with Pastor Walter Davidson officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6-8:00 PM, Wednesday at the funeral home.


Peter was born on October 16, 1966 in Germany. He graduated from Copperas Cove High School in 1984. He then attended Central Texas College and graduated with an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice. He married Cora Ayers on April 4, 2004. He was employed by Texas Department of Criminal Justice for 21 years and was currently a Sgt. at the Gatesville Unit. He loved spending time with his son, watching the Dallas Cowboys, hunting, fishing, cooking barbeque, umpiring little league baseball and football games. He attended the Coryell Community Church.


Mr. Butler is survived by his wife, Cora; son, Andrew Butler of Harker Heights; step sons, Sean and Talon Ayers of Gatesville; brothers, Michael Butler of Gatesville, William Butler of Copperas Cove, and Waldemar Rott of Copperas Cove; sister, Jennifer Wagner of Killeen; father William Butler Sr. of Elm Mott and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Butler.
