Mabel was born in Ravenswood, W.Va., a daughter of the late Alva Johnston and Nora L. (McKitrick) Johnston.
She was a homemaker and worked at the Viscose Plant during World War II. At that time, she helped make parachutes that guided our troops to safety.
Surviving are three daughters, Marline Braham of Washington, Linda Rupert of Petroleum and Judy Fout of MacArthur, Ohio; son, Bernard D. Braham of Parkersburg; sister, Kay Thomson of Parkersburg; 21 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, William Arthur Braham; son, Louis W. Braham, who passed Dec. 4, 2009; daughter, Diane Allman; and three siblings, Bradford Johnston, Louis Johnston and Freda Cutlip.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Mike Kerns officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen South Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
