Annie retired from Louisiana Special Education Center after twenty years of service. She was a member of the Cenla Rose Society and was well known for her beautiful rose arrangements. She was a lover of music and played as a violinist in the Rapides Symphony Orchestra. Her greatest love and enjoyment in life was her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, James "Jim" Brown Sr. of Alexandria.
Those left to cherish her memory are a son James Walter Brown Jr. and wife Evelyn; four grandchildren Melissa Welch (Jason), Kevin Brown, Sara Longlois (James), and Michael Brown; three great grandchildren Connor and Tristan Welch, and Brooklyn Longlois.
It was Annie and Jim's final request that their bodies be donated to Science.
In their honor a memorial Mass for both Annie and Jim will be celebrated Sunday, October 9, 2011 at 3 p.m. at Saint Rita Catholic Church, 4401 Bayou Rapides Road, Alexandria.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Saint Rita Catholic Church.
